You are choosing a painting from a screen. This page is the rest of the answer: who makes it, what you are buying, how each numbered edition closes, and how to ask the studio before you decide.
The artist
I painted for thirty years before I showed anyone. The paintings are landscapes from places I have been: ski towns, national parks, the water at Maui. Each one starts as photographs I took there, and ends as a painting made to hang on a wall that someone chose to live with.
My grandmother collected Matisse. Mine hid in a closet for thirty years. We had different approaches.

What you are buying
Every painting page lists each size in inches with its edition. Measure the wall first, then choose the size that fits it, not the one that looks largest on a phone. If you are between two sizes, send the studio your wall and ask.
Each painting is signed and numbered by me on the front, lower right. Its certificate of authenticity is an aluminum plate fixed to the back. Each size is made in a stated number of editions. When a size sells out, that edition is closed and it is never made again. The total across every size is shown on the painting, and the edition guide explains how it works.
Under heat and pressure the dye never turns to liquid. It goes straight to gas, passes into the panel's coating, and solidifies at different depths inside it. The image has thickness. That is why it holds its light all day, and why it will keep holding it for the next generation.
Nine galleries across the United States, from Vail and Park City to Santa Monica, Asheville and Maine, show and sell the work. A permanent installation hangs at the Grand Teton National Park Visitor Center through 2042. The press has written about the paintings, and the press and facts page names each one.

Questions collectors ask
Each size of a painting is made in a stated number of editions. Every painting is signed and numbered by Topher Straus on the front, lower right, and its certificate of authenticity is an aluminum plate fixed to the back. When a size sells out, that edition is closed and never made again.
It is made on a ChromaLuxe HD Gloss aluminum panel, the museum-grade surface for this process. The image is sublimated into the panel's coating under heat and pressure, so it sits at different depths inside the surface. It is not a canvas, and nothing sits on top of the surface to lift or scratch.
Each painting page lists every available size in inches, with its edition. Measure the wall you have in mind, then choose the size that fits it. If you are between two sizes, send the studio the wall dimensions and ask.
