Ski Artist: Painting the Mountains We Ski
Ski country
“There’s a magic in making first turns after a snowfall. That golden path is pure freedom—an imprint of joy left on the mountain.”
TOPHER STRAUS, ON FRESH TRACKS

Painting the mountains we ski
Topher Straus learned to ski at Mary Jane, as he tells it in C Lot, and his ski paintings hold the feeling of the day: first tracks in fresh snow, the Back Bowls of Vail, figure eights at Aspen Highlands, alpenglow on Mount Crested Butte.
They also hold the towns after dark: Vail Village, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Park City and Whistler glowing beneath their mountains. Galleries in Vail, Park City, Crested Butte and Winter Park represent his work.
