Arizona paintings by Topher Straus
Arizona
Colorado artist Topher Straus paints Arizona: the depth of the Grand Canyon, the bend of the Colorado River at Horseshoe Bend, the Petrified Forest, the saguaros of Tucson and a 1962 Ferrari on the Apache Trail.

“No place humbles me like the Grand Canyon. This painting is about depth—of earth, of time, of feeling.”

About Arizona
The Grand Canyon runs 277 river miles and more than a mile deep through northern Arizona. Upstream near Page, the Colorado River loops a thousand feet below the rim at Horseshoe Bend. In the south, the saguaro, which grows only in the Sonoran Desert, can live for more than 150 years, and east of Phoenix the Apache Trail, State Route 88, winds past canyon lakes and desert cliffs.
