About Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek opened in 1980, ten miles west of Vail, on land first planned as an alpine venue for the 1976 Winter Olympics. Its village is reached by outdoor escalators and is known for small touches, from warm cookies at the end of the ski day to the Birds of Prey downhill, one of the most demanding stops on the men’s World Cup.
