About Breckenridge
Breckenridge was founded in the gold rush of 1859, and its historic district, one of the largest in Colorado, still holds more than two hundred buildings from those years along Main Street. The ski area opened in 1961 on the Tenmile Range, whose summits are simply numbered, Peak 6 through Peak 10, and its Imperial Express is one of the highest chairlifts in North America.
