Brooklyn, New York paintings by Topher Straus
Brooklyn, New York
Topher Straus paints Brooklyn: the steel underside of the Gowanus Viaduct, and an orange 1966 Lamborghini Miura on Washington Street in DUMBO at sunset, beneath the Manhattan Bridge.

“There’s a magic to New York at dusk—when the city hums with possibility and the skyline glows against the deepening sky.”

About DUMBO and Gowanus
Washington Street in DUMBO is one of New York’s most photographed blocks: cobblestones and brick warehouses framing the Manhattan Bridge, opened in 1909, with the city beyond. The Lamborghini Miura that waits there was unveiled in 1966 and is often called the first supercar, its V12 mounted behind the driver. A few miles south, the elevated Gowanus Expressway carries traffic above the old industrial waterfront on a web of steel.
